Helluva Cruise History

John Colone established the Helluva Cruise in 1983. He is the former owner of John Colone Chrysler Plymouth with 16 years of Helluva Cruise fundraising experience. John is the “who” but “how” did the cruise get its name? Well, the cruise traveled through a small town called “Hell, MI” so it was a natural progression to “Helluva Cruise”.

In 2006 the event saw over 350 cars with thousands of spectators from those on the event grounds to those lining the streets. The cruise has had a tremendous economic impact on the community that has been felt by the local retailers. In addition, many of the local families take this opportunity to host family reunions and “Helluva Cruise” themed parties.

This year will be the first year the Pinckney Band Boosters have hosted this event and we are all very excited to make this the best cruise ever.
